💵JincAlthough nobody covers this topic like you, Ms. Johnstone, I am sorry that you seem to be of the belief that left-leaners are better people than others. Well, think again. That old-fashioned view not disappearing fast enough is a tragedy. Get with it already.
Those of us who are anti-governments, yes all governments, and pro-sentient beings, we are the ones leading the way toward a more peaceful world. Government is the favorite tool of the wealthiest people in the world. You don't have to like it to be able to acknowledge it. Those wealthy people make money when government wage wars of destruction, and governments lead the rebuilds, and governments propagandize the hell out of the masses. Don't take the bait. All government is always bad. When it is at its least harmful, though, still, the free market would and will always do better.
Well, all the best. Please do continue your amazing coverage and analysis of the other propaganda we currently endure. A hearty note of gratitude for that.

As a rule, Leftists in general, and Christian Socialists in particular, advocate that 'Doing unto other as you would have them Do unto you' is a MORALLY SUPERIOR position to the Right's 'DO (i.e exploit for profit) unto others BEFORE They DO IT UNTO YOU' Greedballs 'R' US morally BANKRUPT position.
Consequently, am quite certain that Caitlin Johnstone is completely justified in making no bones about believing the left is better and healthier.

Furthermore, the obvious exceptions to those who walk the Matthew 7:12 talk, such as masochists, anorexics, etc, (you get the idea) do not, in a reality based discussion, invalidate the Golden Rule.

🤔 If that is how you think the Golden Rule should be applied in practice, you will not get any argument from me.
I just ask you to keep in mind these two caveats:
1. If a person asks you to do something to them or for them that is against your principles, it is wrong to do it.
2. A person's NEED cannot be based on anything but a fixed standard agreed upon unversally by the bulk of human society. Otherwise socially destructive WANTS will mix in with and undermine the socially constructive bona-fide NEEDS. 'I'm okay, you're okay' relativism will produce dial-yer-own defintions of whatevah. That too, is wrong.

Maybe it might be best just to not make such rules then people would not be hurt and confused if they did something they like for another person who absolutely detests that particular behaviour.

I am certain we can agree that barbarism has no rules, unless you consider "Might Equals Right" a "rule", rather than the morally bankrupt worldview of someone, or a government, like the US and Israel today, that 'He that has the Power Makes the Rules that others, not the one that makes said Rules', have to follow.
My point was, which I am certain you understood when I made it 😉, is that the dial-yer-own definition of rules for what is right and what is wrong is socially unworkable at scale. It is relativism, which you tirelessly, directly or indirectly, wish to argue is "workable". Are you aware of the fact that relativism logically must view the term, 'Moral Bankruptcy" as an oxymoron? You cannot have it both ways, Susan. By the logic of Relativism, no human behavior, no matter how repugnant to some, can be judged on moral grounds, period.
I believe that is why you can consider it "reasonable", and not just a bit arrogant, to propose a "rewrite" of the centuries of wisdom, from both the New and Old Testaments, embodied in the Golden Rule.
I suppose you are party to the Shibboleth that 👉 'Religion is the cause of all our social problems because all this religious superstition baloney foments tribalism which, in turn, causes most, otherwise naturally benevolent and altruistic human beings, to be divided into fighting and killing each other.' 🙄. If that is representative of your worldview, then you are guilty of willfully condemning millions of people of good will all over this planet (who do their best to treat all those around them with respect because they firmly believe God Commanded them to) because of corrupt practices within religious hierarchies. That is the ultimate example of the flawed logic of throwing the baby out with the dirty bathwater.
You are thus illogically excluding from your moral outrage and indignation the corrupted atheist hierachies in TPTB, that have absolutely nothing to do with religion, except as a disingenuous happy talk propaganda tool for the masses, but EVERYTHING to do with Might Equals Right (i.e. social Darwinist Morally BANKRUPT Ideology).
Though it is clear I am unable to convince you of this, your energetic dismissal of the importance of a clearly defined fixed moral standard in human society based on Matthew 7:12 is celebrated by TPTB, who laugh all the way to their blood stained, war profiteering, Fascist fostering banks. They revel in their carefully orchestrated disunion among people of good will.
