Ravid is far from the only influential journalist in America with deep ties to the Israeli state, however. Shachar Peled spent three years as an officer in Unit 8200, leading a team of analysts in surveillance, intelligence and cyberwarfare. She also served as a technology analyst for the Israeli intelligence service, Shin Bet. In 2017, she was hired as a producer and writer by CNN and spent three years putting together segments for Fareed Zakaria and Christiane Amanpour’s shows. Google later hired her to become their Senior Media Specialist.

Another Unit 8200 agent who went on to work for CNN is Tal Heinrich. Heinrich spent three years as a Unit 8200 agent. Between 2014 and 2017, she was the field and news desk producer for CNN’s notoriously pro-Israel Jerusalem Bureau, where she was one of the principal journalists 😈 shaping America’s understanding of Operation Protective Edge, Israel’s bombardment of Gaza that killed more than 2,000 people and left hundreds of thousands displaced. Heinrich later left CNN and is now the official spokesperson of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

CNN’s penchant for hiring Israeli state figures continues to this day. Tamar Michaelis, for example, currently works for the network, producing much of its Israel/Palestine content. This is despite having previously served as an official IDF spokesperson in the Israeli Defense Forces.

The New York Times, meanwhile, hired Anat Schwartz, an ex-Israeli Air Force Intelligence officer with zero journalistic experience. Schwartz co-wrote the infamous and now discredited “Screams Without Words” expose, which claimed that Hamas fighters systematically sexually violated Israelis on October 7. Times staff themselves revolted over the lack of evidence and fact-checking in the piece.

Multiple New York Times employees, including star columnist David Brooks, have had children serving in the IDF; even as they report or offer opinions on the region, the Times never disclosed these glaring conflicts of interest to its readers. Nor has it disclosed that it purchased a Jerusalem house for its bureau chief that was stolen from the family of Palestinian intellectual Ghada Karmi in 1948.

MintPress News interviewed Karmi last year about her latest book and Israeli attempts to silence her. Former New York Times Magazine writer and current editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg (an American) dropped out of the University of Pennsylvania to volunteer as an IDF prison guard during the first Palestinian Intifada (uprising). In his memoirs, Goldberg revealed that, while serving in the IDF., he helped cover up the abuse of Palestinian prisoners.

Social media companies, too, are filled with former Unit 8200 agents. A 2022 MintPress study found no fewer than 99 former Unit 8200 operatives working for Google.

Russia has never tried to dictate any narrative to me, unlike the West

As the US government works overtime to 🦍 stigmatize any 🕯️🗽 journalism possessing connectivity with Russia, the world slides dangerously down a path defined by a Russophobic US-driven agenda that leads toward the inevitability of conflict, and the probability of nuclear war.

When the 🐗 FBI executed a search warrant on my residence on August 7, they were singularly focused on my professional relationship (I am a self-employed journalist) with the Russian government, and in particular, , the widely recognized brand name of Russia Today, a media company founded by the autonomous non-profit organization TV-Novosti in April 2005.

According to the FBI, the  🎩 US government was 👿 concerned that my activities fell under the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA).

The 🐗 FBI has also searched the Virginia home of Dmitry Simes, a veteran Russian-American journalist who currently resides in Moscow where he helps moderate a popular political program, The Big Game, on Channel 1.

While the FBI has not publicly commented on the raid on Simes’ home , it is most likely due to similar concerns over FARA compliance.

I have been an external contributor (i.e., contactor) to since April 2020. Since the initial contract was signed, I have written numerous articles and produced hundreds of videos for which I have been compensated financially in accordance with the terms set forth in the agreements between myself and RT. As stipulated in the signed agreements, I am solely responsible for the content of the work provided.

At no time have I entered into any agreement, written or oral, or have reached any understanding, formal or informal, that I am responsive to the direction or control of either /TV-Novosti or the Russian government.

Indeed, the agreement between myself and RT stipulates that I am responsible for determining the topics that will be covered in the content I produce, although as is the case in any editorial/producer relationship with “talent,” I have been asked to provide content that is responsive to breaking news.

‘Hannibal Directive’ – Israel has Been Killing its Captives since October 7 Itself

According to all the available evidence, which Israel has repeatedly tried to hide, Israel has been indiscriminately firing upon and slaughtering its own people since October 7 itself.

A recent ABC report on the Israeli military’s use of the infamous Hannibal Directive against its own citizens on October 7 has helped to further unravel Israeli media reports which have been confirming the details as to who killed who on that day.

What it also brought to attention, is the fact that Israel has been killing its own captives since the first day of the war, not just after they were held as prisoners in Gaza.

While Israel has killed dozens of its citizens who were being held captive in Gaza, through their indiscriminate bombing campaign against civilian infrastructure in the besieged coastal enclave, little attention is turned to the military doctrine that set in motion such a strategy and what it means.

Although the Israeli air force has been continuously killing Israeli captives in Gaza since the early months of the war, by launching missile strikes that have annihilated or rendered unsafe, most of the territory’s infrastructure.

In May, a United Nations Development Program assessment concluded that in order to rebuild Gaza’s destroyed homes, it would take a minimum of 16 years and that time frame could range up to 80 years depending upon what materials will be allowed, who could participate and at what rate.

In July, the UN’s Environment Program said that just clearing the debris of what was then 40,000 tons of war rubble would take 15 years alone.

It suffices to say that the evidence in front of us confirms that Israel has not in any way conducted a targeted military campaign, instead opting to indiscriminately bombard the entire territory and destroy every single standing building in a buffer zone they seek to create inside 🥵😵😱 Gaza. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Israeli captives who were being held in buildings that the Israeli air force attacked were killed.

However, this story didn’t end up picking up the attention of the corporate media until December. Some 70 days into the war three Israeli captives managed to escape an area where they were being held, emerging together and holding up a makeshift white flag. Despite this, they were all shot dead by trigger-happy Israeli soldiers who had been used to shooting anything that moves in Gaza.

Yet, the indiscriminate bombings, failed commando raids on tunnels, and the shooting dead of their captives was not where the killing of their own citizens began. According to all the available evidence, which Israel has repeatedly tried to hide, Israel has been indiscriminately firing upon and slaughtering its own people since October 7 itself.

The recent ABC piece cites a bomb-shell Haaretz article that confirmed the Hannibal Directive was triggered on October 7, citing Israeli military sources to back up the allegation. This, as Israel’s Yediot Aharonot news also reported on the indiscriminate fire from helicopters, drones and tanks.

What the recent piece in ABC does, is that as a mainstream media outlet, it does a great job at compiling the evidence released from the Israeli side. It cites for instance, Ronen Bergman’s investigative article that found around 70 vehicles that were seen as potentially heading to Gaza were destroyed by Israeli tank and helicopter fire, killing everyone inside.


The report does note that Bergman’s article makes it clear that there are still question marks however, as he says: “It is not clear at this point how many of the abductees were killed due to the activation of this (Hannibal) order on October 7”.

The ABC report also cites two cases where survivors of Israeli strikes against their fellow citizens had spoken out on the issue. In the first case, a resident of Kibbutz Nir Oz testified to being fired upon by an Israeli military helicopter as Hamas fighters attempted to take her and others captive into Gaza on an electric wagon.

The case of Kibbutz Be’eri was also used, where the report uses testimony of an Israeli survivor and a relative of Israelis who were killed there, to debunk the claims of an Israeli military internal investigation that concluded tank shells fired there did not kill anyone other than Hamas fighters.

In Kibbutz Be’eri, where 101 non-combatants were said to have been killed, Yasmin Porat, a survivor who was taken captive by Hamas fighters, not only mentioned tank shelling but also spoke of Israeli soldiers starting a “very, very heavy crossfire” by shooting into a building and killing 5 or 6 Israelis.

It is also clear from all the reporting on the issue that has been published in Israeli media outlets, that the facts have been limited due to a military censor that is imposed on the news websites and channels.

Unless we have direct testimony from survivors, trusting the internal investigations of the Israeli military, who we now know triggered the Hannibal Directive against their own civilians and soldiers, would be the only other way to determine what exactly happened that day.

However, as was pointed out in the ABC piece, the Israeli investigation has been directly contradicted by eyewitness accounts. In addition to this, the physical evidence available from that day also indicates that the Israeli military killed many more of its citizens than it lets on.

When investigative articles do surface in the Israeli media, citing military sources and producing evidence for certain aspects of what truly transpired that day, they don’t ever place all of that information in one place and so it is then up to journalists to piece together the wider picture.

Saying all of this and also conceding that there is no way to conclude a specific figure range of how many of the 1,139 Israelis were actually killed by their own military and security forces that day, it is clear that many who were taken captive by Palestinian fighters were killed by the Israeli army itself.

Therefore, it is apparent that since October 7, Israel has been killing its own captives and this is clearly down to its trigger-happy and chaotic rules of engagement.

The Biden administration has unleashed a 🦍 frontal assault on 🗽 free speech, using allegations of Russian interference in US elections as justification to ban Russian media from operating inside the United States, and criminalizing the actions of Americans such as myself who dare provide a platform for Russian voices to heard by a broader American audience.

While I have, to date, not appeared in any of the indictments (nor do I expect to, since I have done nothing illegal), several Russian and Russian-Americans have, along with various Russian organizations. As expected, speculation in the mainstream media as well as social media runs wild regarding the scope and scale of the alleged Russian interference. This has caused me to reflect on how far off-kilter America has found itself, where a politicized judiciary clearly seeking to tip the forthcoming election away from the challenger, and to the hand-picked successor to the incumbent, is ignored while allegations made by this politicized judiciary about paid propaganda are treated at face value.

(A quick reminder that all of the persons and organizations that have been indicted so far on criminal charges are Russians or Russian-Americans who reside in Russia and, as such, are outside the reach of American law enforcement and most likely not going to engage in an adversarial challenge of the charges in a US court of law, allowing the US government and its compliant minions in the mainstream media to treat the allegations as fact.)

Amidst revelations of multi-million dollar deals where influencers were paid $100,000 a week to produce video content, and on-air hosts given million dollar salaries along with other perks, my relationship with Russian state-owned media pales into insignificance, contracted as an outside contributor compensated with what now, by comparison, seems a paltry $250-280 per item published, with the total amount received amounting to less than 7% of my total annual income.

Apparently, my negotiating skills are lacking—rather than insisting that I would not consider any offer under $5 million, I was content with compensation that matched the industry “norm” of between $150-300 per item published. Earlier this year, when thought that my interest in contributing had waned, they offered to double the price paid per article; I declined, insisting that we adhere to the letter of our agreement.

The value of my interaction with Russian media, both in terms of publishing with and Sputnik, as well as appearing on programs of a wide range of other Russian media outlets, came from the connections made, and the resulting ability to meet and interact with Russian officials, politicians, diplomats, academics, military officers, analysts, experts, and people on the street. I view my Russian media interaction as part and parcel of my entire Russia experience—a critical aspect of the immersive activities I engaged in when traveling to Russia in 2023 and early 2024. The Russian journalists I encountered were professionals in every sense of the word, and by subjecting myself to their queries, I learned much about the Russian mindset and how it shaped Russian sensibilities and priorities.

I am struck by the intensity of the Department of Justice’s campaign—and by extension, that of the Biden administration—against Russian media. Not only is it a gross politicization of the judiciary, singling out as it does one candidate (Donald Trump) as being the recipient—unwitting or otherwise—of Kremlin efforts to tip the scale of democracy in his favor, but it builds walls between the American people and their Russian counterparts at a time when bridges are desperately needed.

🕯️🗽 RAY McGOVERN: 🐍😈 Conditioning Americans for War With Russia

With new U.S. action today against Moscow, Russiagate remains like a vampire, with no one able to drive a wooden stake into its heart and keep it there. 🤦‍♂️

As the drums beat louder and louder about alleged threats from Russia, the 😈 Biden administration today blew perilous new life into the debunked and disgraced Russiagate disinformation operation.

👹 Russiagate seems too good of a weapon for the Democrats to give up. Its initial appearance, beginning in 2016, dangerously raised tensions with nuclear-armed Russia.  But in the midst of today’s escalating crisis in Ukraine, a Russiagate repeat recklessly raises risk to insane heights.   

Here’s how 🐍 The New York Times reported it today:

“The United States on Wednesday announced a broad effort to push back on Russian influence campaigns in the 2024 election, as it tries to curb the Kremlin’s use of state-run media and fake news sites to sway American voters.

The actions include sanctions, indictments and seizing of web domains that U.S. officials say the Kremlin uses to spread propaganda and disinformation about Ukraine, which Russia invaded more than two years ago.

Attorney General Merrick B. Garland detailed the actions taken by the Justice Department. They include the indictment of two Russian employees of RT, the state-owned broadcaster, who used a company in Tennessee to spread content, and the takedown of a Russian malign influence campaign known as Doppelgänger.

‘The American people are entitled to know when a foreign power engages in political activities or seeks to influence public discourse,’ Mr. Garland said. …

The State Department has offered a $10 million reward for information pertaining to foreign interference in an American election.”

Garland testified: “The effort in this case is to affect the preferred outcome of the presidential election. … the Director of National Intelligence has testified that Russia’s preferences have not changed from the preceding election.”

🐍 CNN’s Breaking News alert dredged up thoroughly disproven myths of “Russia’s 2016 activity, which included hacking the Democratic National Committee and leaking documents aimed at undercutting Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.” 

The Lie That 😈🎩 Won’t Die

Most 🙊🙉🙈 Americans (not 🤠 attentive readers 👍 of Consortium News) will believe this recycled drivel from top Justice Department and F.B.I. officials, whose predecessors promoted the same gambit.

As we pointed out four weeks ago in “Decay, Decrepitude, Deceit in Journalism,” thanks to Establishment media, Russiagate continues to survive “like a science fiction monster resilient to bullets.” This, even though the $32 million Robert Mueller investigation found no conspiracy between Russia and the Trump campaign — a main plank in the Russiagate tale.

The other main plank, that Russia hacked Democratic National Committee computers, was also debunked, as we shall get to shortly.

The 👿 government’s actions today were preceded by more Russiagate drivel last Saturday from a repeat offender, 🐍 Michael Isikoff (via Spy Talk). This time around, Russiagate is consequential drivel as it helps grease the skids for war.

In 2017 Isikoff wrote (with David Corn) Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump —  “how American democracy was hacked by Moscow to help Trump” (Amazon); a “most thorough and riveting account” (The New York Times).

It was all, as the British say, bollocks! In fact, a year after the “riveting” book came out, Isikoff had to admit publicly that the “Steele Dossier” and infamous “pee-tape” were “likely false.” He confessed during an interview on Dec. 15, 2018, (with an unsuspecting — and somewhat shocked) admirer.

The Timing of Isikoff’s Confession

I wondered why Isikoff volunteered his confession at the time (I had thought prematurely). Perhaps there is a clue in what follows:

On Dec. 5, 2017, the House Intelligence Committee took closed-door sworn testimony from Shawn Henry, a top official of the cyber security firm CrowdStrike hired by the F.B.I. to do the forensics on the Democratic National Committee computers.

Henry testified, we only found out years later, that there was no technical evidence that those DNC emails, which were so embarrassing to Mrs. Clinton when published by WikiLeaks, had been hacked, by Russia or by anyone else.

Wait! You did not know about Henry’s sworn testimony? Here’s why. 😈 Adam Schiff, then chair of the House Intelligence Committee, and the Establishment media have been able to keep that testimony hidden from nearly everyone for almost seven years.

The indignities do not cease. The C.I.A. analyst who wrote the first draft of the meretricious “Intelligence Community Assessment” of Jan. 6, 2017, which was used far and wide to “prove” Russian hacking of the DNC and other offensives, is bragging about the role he played.

Now retired, Michael van Landingham has told his story to Rolling Stone. We dissected it in our last piece.

The unrepentant Isikoff, just a few months ago, in Jeff Stein’s SpyTalk pushed the (now thoroughly discredited) claim that Russia hacked the DNC emails.

To remind one: those emails showed that, because of DNC and Clinton campaign machinations, Bernie Sanders had as much chance of becoming the 2016 Democratic Party nominee as the proverbial snowball in hell.

The Vampire

“ 👹 Russian hacking the DNC” is like a vampire, with no one able to drive a wooden stake into its heart and keep it there. President Barack Obama himself knew it was phony, yet he expelled 35 Russian diplomats for hacking and other alleged meddling in the 2016 election.

Is Isikoff’s latest redux in SpyTalk a harbinger of more Russophobic brainwashing as National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and Secretary of State Antony Blinken prepare a response to Russia prevailing in Ukraine?

In the piece, 🐍 Isikoff peddles the dangerous fantasy that Russia is threatening Europe beyond Ukraine, while at the same time saying Russia can’t even win in the Ukrainian “stalemate.”  Isikoff does this in an interview with 😈 John Sullivan, a former U.S. envoy to Moscow, who’s just published a new book about his time in the Russian capital.

He says:

“’This is all about Russian aggression,’ Sullivan continued. ‘It happens to be directed at Ukraine, which is why the point of the spear is sticking into Ukraine, but it won’t end there. And I draw the analogies, many analogies in the book, to the Second World War and the start of the war in the 1930s and the late 30s.’”


Former President Donald Trump’s spokeswoman 🐒 Kellyanne Conway coined the expression “alternative facts.” With folks like 🐍 Isikoff and 🐍 van Landingham back in the saddle — and outlets like Spy Talk and Rolling Stone willing to  🙊🙉🙈 promote them — expect as many “alternative facts” from Donkeys as from Elephants.

What is important to bear in mind is that the “alternative facts” about Russia are more dangerous by far, given the extremely high tension between Washington and Moscow.

Below is the TRUTH about who did what and who killed who during the October 7, 2023 Military Operation by Hamas:

On the 7th, it is crucial to understand that there were no direct attacks on civilians, only collateral damage. Out of the 1148 total names on Haaretz dataset, 473 military and 675 were civilians.
 

Ratio of civilians to military personnel killed on the 7th was 1 . 4 : 1 -  lower than any of the IDF "mowing" operations, which has a ratio of 7 : 1.

According to UN OCHA data from 2008 to 2022; The collateral damage on the 7th was significantly lower than any of the IDF " mowing" operations, which had a ratio of 7:1 with 1,023 military personnel out of 6,541 total. 


On the 7th, with 473 military (418 were IDF military personnel, 55 belonged to the police) out of 1148 total, the ratio of civilians to military personnel was a mere 1.4:1.


When including all casualties, not just deaths, the collateral damage ratio of the "mowing" operations is a staggering 162:1.

From the 161,233 accumulated civilian casualties over only 14 years of " mowing" operations.

A 162 :1 ratio means that for every 162 civillians, 1 military personnel is a casualty. The 7th had a ratio of 1.4:1, more than a hundred times lower.

The 473 are - 55 soldiers, 13 privates, 59 corporals, 200 sergeants (45 of whom were sergeant majors), 48 commanders, 32 lieutenants, 5 lieutenant colonels, 6 colonels, 37 officers, 10 inspectors, 6 intendents, and 2 Lance Corp. This was a military defeat, and they are taking it out on the rest.


The reported ages of the victims are as follows:
0-4: 2 civilians
5-12: 8 civilians
13-17: 14 civilians
18-25: 132 civilians
26-40: 119 civilians
41-60: 55 civilians
61+: 40 civilians

Active duty military personnel:
18-25: 258 active duty military personnel
26-40: 60 active duty military personnel
41-60: 17 active duty military personnel
61+: 1 active duty military personnel

2019 - 15,491 Wounded Civilians, Deaths 138.

2020 - 2,581 Wounded Civilians, Deaths 30.

2021 - 19,183 Wounded Civilians, Deaths 349.

2022 - 10,345 Wounded Civilians, Deaths 191. 

2023 up to September - 8,508 Wounded Civilians, Deaths 227.

civilian deaths on the other side -

Total; 2008 up to September 2023 - 161,233 PA Civilian Casualties,  1,023 military personnel.

Wounded includes: amputees from the deliberate targeting of knees by snipers, white phosphorous third degree body burns, etc.

The  "Costs of War" study by brown in 2021 has these figures for the past 20 years of engagement of US policy: indirect deaths 4.5-4.7 million, direct 905-940,000 ; in other words 6 Million Deaths and 38 million displaced. This is relevant because of the Yinon Plan.
