Well, I do see it. WHY? Mainly because of scientific evidence that, during an NDE, when there is ZERO brain activity and a person is 100% flat lined, our being exhibits, not just normal, but increased sensory awareness while irrefutably NOT observing surroundings (e.g. a VERY long number on top of a medical machine, the number on top of an ambulance, a leg amputated and put in a yellow plastic bag during surgery on somebody else in the same hospital, etc., you get the picture) from within the physical body.
Your POV is, perhaps, based on the idea that this brief excursion out of the body is some quasi-physical part of our physical being, that science has not been able to measure yet, that "goes away" when we have been physically dead "for long enough". Modern medicine does not accept that as an objective basis for excluding the permanent existence of our conscious being outside the physical body. An NDE is not the same as being in a Coma without visible life signs. Those in a Coma have brain wave activity.
If your hypothesis was true, it would be expected that people in a Coma (about as close as you can get to being dead - and yeah, severely stressed physiological life support systems cause people to enter into a Coma - Severe Physiological Stress is the excuse most use to "explain" NDE experiences, that is, when they are unable to hang the "hallucination" hat on them.) would report experiencing NDEs, but there is no causal link reported by NDE researchers between a Coma and an NDE.
You CAN trigger a Coma. Doctors do that all the time when absolutely required for some medical procedure, though you certainly can enter a Coma from severe stress without some doctor pumpimg you with massive amounts of insulin. You CANNOT trigger an NDE by putting someone in a Coma.
Clinical death means no senses, period. The fact that there are proven out of body sensual perceptions (e.g. even from people blind FROM BIRTH before AND AFTER the NDE (https://youtu.be/bBoZYZsEghA?t=1436)) is evidence for the physical body being subordinate to the spirit, not the other way around. Thus, this objectively presents the uncomfortable case, for those who think that the 3D Universe is "primary", that our consciousness is a function of that non-physical part of us commonly called the spirit or the soul. The inescapable logical corollary is that the body requires, in addition to all of its physiological mechanisms, a soul to be alive. No, medical science makes no such claim.
So, believe what you will about that brief glimpse of what is on the other side. Anyone that reads what you wrote, and accepts your hypothesis, will come to the conclusion that the "other side" is not really there.
You cannot have it both ways, bro. IF there IS life after death (i.e. the Other Side) it is permanent, not a transitory hallucination on the way to oblivion.
Do you, or do you not, believe in the reality of the metaphysical nature of our Universe along with its physical nature?
Paul the Apostle was not a medical doctor, but without having to resort to Plato's Cave (though that works quite well for that purpose 😁), to explain the overriding eternal reality and importance of the afterlife, compared physical life with that of a seed. Paul is exactly right.

The bottom line is that you are an ethics based person of good will who firmly believes, through EVIDENCE BASED REASON resulting from your senses being FULLY OPENED, that Naturalism is all there is. Therefore, your worldview, of ideological necessity, draws a line in the sand that EXCLUDES THE SCIENTIFIC VALIDITY of ANY human experience on the other side (i.e. AFTER physical Death) of "properly opened senses" of that LINE (i.e. "The physical Universe is all there is and all life evolved by random undirected processes").
And yet, you see no irony in the fact that your worldview is actually far more exclusionary than my worldview, which argues, among other things, that life exists on both sides of that line.

After Death — A Riveting Glimpse of the Hereafter

I’ve just watched a remarkable, riveting documentary that releases in theaters on October 27 – After Death (https://www.angel.com/watch/after-death). It’s too bad the famous line from Hamlet has become a bit of a cliché — “There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy” — since it so perfectly captures what I took away from the film. There sure are a lot more things about reality than are captured by a narrow naturalistic view.
The message of the film, by directors Stephen Gray and Chris Radtke, is extremely well conveyed. It’s beautifully photographed, produced, and enacted, making use of actors and ordinary people who describe what they say happened to them while briefly dead, before being revived in a medical setting. No small number have died, only to be brought back thanks to advances in healing unknown to past generations. Of these, some number offer reports of an otherworldly realm, beyond yet somehow connected to our own. For those who go and come back, there is both joy and grief. Make of it what you will.

Lots of Ways to Die
We meet doctors who have had the experience themselves or who carefully documented what others have gone through. There are lots of ways to die: A horrific car or airplane accident. A catastrophic health emergency. Attempted suicide by kitchen knife. A drowning. Each of these is followed by seeing visions that often, but I think not always, follow a pattern.
The “dead” person may see the room or other locale where he lies and observe actions by others going on around him. This is “autoscopy” — seeing yourself from outside, and reports of it have in some cases been objectively verified. More subjective (perhaps) are accounts of travel to a heavenly realm to meet loved ones who have passed on, and to meet God. Disturbingly, according to the film, 23 percent of near-death experiences (NDEs) are not of heaven but of hell. “One of the scariest moments in my life,” says one man. (Only “one of”?) “A pit of despair and hopelessness,” says another.
The interviews are fascinating. The subjects describe being, while dead, “more alive than I’ve ever felt,” ““conscious and then more conscious,” immersed in “an ocean of love.” Some are anguished to realize they’ve been returned to our earthly existence, from their true home, against their will. Nor is everyone who comes back necessarily improved by the experience, at least not at first. A man who died with his life disordered felt he went down to hell, then was rescued by Jesus. He wished to share what he learned with others but became, in his own words, a “zealot” who alienated everyone around him. A neurosurgeon recalls talking with a patient who, after being medically dead, recounted details of her autoscopic experience. “As she spoke,” says the surgeon, “I became spooked.” That makes two of us.
Hope for the Hereafter
The filmmakers plainly wish to give hope for the hereafter, and no doubt with many viewers, they will succeed. But After Death is not a simple vehicle for that. Parts of it are scary and disturbing. While generally appearing to reflect a Christian perspective, the theology here, insofar as it’s articulated, doesn’t clearly match any one recognizable religion. The heavenly imperative seems to be, above all, that humans in their lifetime on Earth should love each other. That makes sense to me, but I’m not sure that it’s an orthodox view, or more of a modern one. Being modern doesn’t mean it’s not true. It’s suggested, also, that these experiences are cross-cultural. It would be interesting to know what people outside the American context report.
One could ask other questions, like why is the information imparted here, while pertaining to ultimate matters, conditioned on something wholly worldly like advances in life-saving medical techniques? And if God is love, indeed an “ocean of love,” and if that figure of 23 percent is meaningful, how can it be that he sends approximately one quarter of humans to hell?
For audiences, there will be much to discuss afterward. For the materialist, in particular, there is a great deal to ponder and to try to explain in naturalistic terms, if he can.

Psychiatrist Bruce Greyson first became interested in NDEs (near-death experiences) in a similar situation. An NDE experiencer noticed, in an out-of-body experience, a spaghetti stain on his tie, which he had successfully concealed from colleagues.
► Yet sometimes, the message the NDE experiencer offers is not trivial at all:
A young nine-year-old boy named Eddie was seriously ill in a hospital. Recovering from a thirty-six-hour fever, Eddie immediately told those in the hospital room that he had been to heaven, recounting seeing his grandfather, an aunt, and an uncle there. But then his startled and agitated father heard Eddie report that his nineteen-year-old sister Teresa, away at college, was in heaven too, and she told Eddie that he had to return. But the father had just spoken to Teresa two days prior. Checking with the college, the father found out that his daughter had been killed in a car accident the previous day.

The college had been unable to reach Teresa’s parents, probably because they were with Eddie. While near-death experiencers sometimes meet persons who were not known to have died, they rarely meet anyone who is alive in this world.

In the Pocket Wilderness of Tennessee, paleontologist Kurt Wise talks to Del Tackett about fossil plants and how important they are for understanding the fossil record. He then uses the order in which major plant groups first appear in the fossil record to demonstrate some of the unique biomes of the pre-Flood world--such as a floating forest--and explain the unique order of fossils laid down during the global Flood.
Dr. Wise earned his BA in geology from the University of Chicago, and his MA and PhD degrees in paleontology from Harvard University. He founded and directed the Center for Origins Research at Bryan College and taught biology there for 17 years. Dr. Snelling completed a BS in applied geology at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, graduating with first-class honors in 1975. His PhD in geology was awarded in 1982 by The University of Sydney for his research thesis titled “A Geochemical Study of the Koongarra Uranium Deposit, Northern Territory, Australia.”
Dr. Snelling worked for six years in the exploration and mining industries in Tasmania, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory, variously as a field, mine, and research geologist.
