The Ridiculousness is Just Staggering
SNIPPETS:
When Israel began its mock, limited invasion of Lebanon a few weeks ago, it launched a huge air campaign (hey, why not? The US taxpayers provide the bombs, and no one cares about dead Arab babies), but put a relatively small number of troops on the ground.
They did it because they knew a full-scale invasion would be an immediate mega disaster, but they could not not do anything. They have to show the Israeli public that they are strong, modern, capable, and relentless.
This is how Israel always operates: it is addicted to its false self-image (as both a historical victim and unstoppable victor) and can never meet reality. Hack, it can never even recognize the most basic tenets of reality.
So they sent some divisions in across the Lebanese border, and took some of Hezbollah's border-adjacent infrastructure (I am positive that like in Gaza, there is a lot they already missed), placed along the border line and in some nearby villages.
What Hezbollah did in response to the limited Israeli move across the border is just what you would expect a guerrilla or partisan fighting force to do, and that’s a tactical retreat. They just jumped back a few kilometers to a much stronger second line prepared years ago for just this scenario.
That was a very common-sensical thing for Hezbollah to do, because, unlike a regular military, it was not built to defend the territorial integrity of Lebanon in direct combat, but rather designed to bleed out, demoralize, disrupt, and destroy the invading forces till they have no other option but to go back home, facing years of trauma and shock.
But for the Israeli public, Hezbollah's tactical retreat was presented as a resounding defeat and abandonment of the battlefield, which was just hilarious (in a very tragic and unaware way for Israelis). ... ...
The fast pace at which the IDF now suffers casualties will start to be unsustainable in not very long. The spoiled, deluded, and overprotected Israeli society cannot sustain hundreds of casualties a month for long, and this is where we're going. And that's on top of Gaza and the price Hamas still exacts there, before the war with Iran, and with not a single achievement to celebrate in over a year of fighting and reserve service. Things are just getting worse and worse in a linear way.
In my estimation, six months of this will seriously cripple Israel's very ability to attempt a large-scale invasion of Lebanon (still, like soldiers and their cellphones, they may hazard it).

I was just watching (again) the film Blue Box (2021) This documentary follows the personal work of Joseph Weitz who was instrumental in acquiring land in some shady deals (JNF) in order to dispossess Palestinians from the land in the period from prior to 1948 until he left his position in 1964.
In his diary he clearly acknowledges this very blatant "ridiculousness" you are talking about.
1) In 1949 after the Nakba he writes a letter to Moshe Sharett saying that: Israel managed to create a huge refugee problem and he thinks it would be terrible idea to just let it fester. He suggests to pay refugees for their losses (however, of course not to allow them return).
2) Years after same Joseph Weitz writes in his diary that 1967 war is going to be “historic disaster which will burden the next generations and it breaks his heart”. He admits that the Palestinians have no choice but to see us (Israelis) as imperialist conquerors.
So here we have it, TWO perfect (massive) demonstrations of this very same "ridiculousness" in 1948 and in 1967.
On one hand the dogged compulsion to cause destruction and pain and almost immediately after they experience the “heartbreak” of "condemning future generations to misery…"
So, after their wars they usually begin to cry and ask for sympathy.
Simply the lowest form of fraudster killers.
It is somewhat of a mystery how exactly Israelis can stomach this sort of existence but I guess they got used to this s-h-i-t (if America pays then maybe its possible) Disgusting beyond words. For psychologists this may be an interesting treasure trove for research but it is hard to imagine lowest place for humans to get. Massive repeating mistakes and blunders or simply fraudsters? I know what I choose.

Arrogance and the delusion of grandeur seem to be the basis of these miscalculations. From the relatively little I've read, it seems the bizarre inflated self importance seems rooted in the state from its very founding. Ben Gurion seems to have gotten the ball rolling with his bufoonish antics earl on.

The question (sometime a debate) is what is the meaning of this 'foolishness'? where does it come from? How are we supposed to describe it in our consciousness?
1) Terrible mistake, miscalculation, arrogance, infantile tantrum, knee jerk reaction, etc?
2) Not a mistake, a planned action, but good intentions that somehow went wrong?
3) Something more sinister (without specifying what it is)?
I think the fact that we are even ASKING this question means the answer must be the 3rd one.
Because if I'm being pushed to ask this (for so long) a fraud is taking place as we speak. And WE (the survivors) are the target of this fraud. Israelis are the most serious target of this fraud and 99.5% swallow it. Totally unbelievable. But true.
Sorry, if this conclusion seems harsh but I see no other option here.

Social Darwinists believe that ethics based principles are 'limitations pretending to be virtues'. To them, ethics are 'feel good illusions' that humans invented to pretend our species has empathy. To Social Darwinists, empathy is irrefutable evidence of inexcusable weakness. To them, all who are guided by ethics are deluded fools that should be eliminated from the human 'apex predator' gene pool for the "good" of our species.
The ideology of the Social Darwinist is indistinguishable from the despicable ideology of NAZI Germany, clearly exemplified in their brutally enforced morally bankrupt concentration camp law: “Eat your own bread, and if you can, that of your neighbor.”
Social Darwinism is the morally bankrupt world view that spawned the profit over people and planet neoliberal ideology. Neoliberal intellectuals like Friedrich von Hayek, Ludwig von Mises and Milton Friedman were all Social Darwinists long before they renamed laissez-faire liberalism (that had been thoroughly discredited by the Great Depression) with the catchy title of "Neoliberalism".
Zionism , both here in the U.S. and Israel, is also full throated Social Darwinism in practice. The only, purely cosmetic, difference between Neoliberalism and Zionism is that Zionism has sanctimonious pseudo-religious camouflage.
Celebrated social theorist and geographer David Harvey explains that neoliberal ideology serves the following principle:
"There shall be no serious challenge to the absolute power of money to rule absolutely. And that power is to be exercised with one objective: Those possessed of money shall not only be privileged to accumulate wealth endlessly at will, but they shall have the right to inherit the earth, taking either direct or indirect dominion, not only of the land and all the resources and productive capacities that reside therein, but also assume absolute command, directly or indirectly, over the labor and creative capacities of all those others it needs. If the morally bankrupt, socially destructive ideology which champions the absolute power of money to rule absolutely, while it simultaneously deems the rest of humanity disposable, is not SOCIAL DARWINISM, I don't know what is.

I hear what you are saying and my initial response is to say, yes(!) this is what it looks like. And 'Social Darwinism' sound a good name (model) for it! But then I think this could be just a fancy name for total degeneracy.
We are humans. That’s who we are. They can't redefine us (well, they can but this doesn't change anything in us). That’s why I simply prefer to call them fraudsters. Of course, a fraudster wants to portray this in some "grand" theoretical and so-called "scientific" broader view but it doesn't change the fact that Social Darwinism is a sophisticated word for contempt towards humans. Humans will have to decide if they want to be lab rats for experimentation or they want to remain humans.

We know, no matter what a plethora of relativists will claim, what is morally bankrupt behavior, that will, if we are not a psychopath, destroy all our relationships, and eventually ourselves, if we insist on believing empathy is for fools and 'might equals right' is for the 'highly evolved' among us. Making up euphemistic legerdemain based on Darwinian "logic" is exactly what gives these evil bastards, many who are Zionists, the self assured ARROGANCE to cling to their bullshit ideology.
The reason too many people do not want to go there is the ENTRENCHED belief that we are a bunch of hairless apes with oversized brains. This unscientific speculation has been pounded into all of us since we were knee high to grasshoppers. If a person wants to believe in evolution, that's their business, but NOBODY has the right to "justify" genocide, or any other BARBARIC and DESPICABLE human behavior, because of, uh. Darwin. Yet, that is the silent BRAIN STOP that is rampant in our society now that allows these evil bastards (the MIC and Wall Street are both FULL OF THEM) to pretend they are "just being human". I think they are DEVOLVING. We certainly have the potential to completely ignore our "better angels" so to speak, but there is no logical scientific basis for the amoral view of all possible human actions.

We seem to sustain ever increasing number of body blows (in the last 2-3 decades) and no one knows if this is because we have already given up or are we in the process of actually learning something about ourselves and what we are actually dealing with here, as a prelude for taking a stand...?

I like the term "reality based" humans (which we need more of them).
What might be an issue here that most people (so it seems) want to be swept away by something everyone else is doing. Their guidance is from the mob (in both meanings of the word...) is what they are looking for... and then it doesn't really matter if something is true or false anymore, and a fraud is as good as anything else, and before you know it anything goes... as long as you are swept with the flow, because it is easy, convenient and instantly rewarding, just join the party...be excited and forget anything about what's real or not.
I can only guess this is one of the basic rules of public relations and manipulation techniques of the field called marketing.
Marketing (i.e. people sitting in rooms and thinking and testing how to manipulate folks in exceedingly better ways for profit is a 100% legal thing to do, and isn't this the actual definition of fraud...? enticing people with half-truths (sometimes less), providing them information that actually doesn’t really serve them at all. In other words, fraud is legal(!) as long as it’s the right kind of fraud... done by expensive professionals.
I'm not sure why this hasn't percolated to our consciousness that our system cannot be working for us under such conditions. Result is that current societal fabric is built to serving fraudsters (in media, in education, in health, and of course in "politics"). Because when a single public sector realises that the whole thing is based on “legal fraud” how can we prevent this from seeping into every other part of the system...? And while all this is happening we have no meaningful opposition to even to utter this reality to the public... let alone offer them an alternative... let alone do something about it.

All true. That said, the ethical quandary you present is simply not an issue for people who do not give a hoot about ethics, other than pretending to be ethical as a form of guile. Fraud has been routinely perpetrated by a significant percentage of the human population since time immemorial.
The issue of convincing our leaders that stopping unethical people in their elite ranks from greedily, and often murderously, fraudulently exploiting anyone they can exploit is sadly a quixotic goal if TPTB do not make ETHICAL BEHAVIOR sine qua non to protecting and preserving a viable biosphere based, thriving human civilization.
Here is a seemingly "irrelevant" act based on ethical behavior. I live in Vermont. My water heater failed about 7 years ago. I stopped using hot water to shower ever since, due to altruism based environmental ethics. I'm not trying to pat myself on the back here; I'm just making a point that IF just 20% of the human population DID THAT NOW, we would probably not have a climate crisis OR wars for OIL (Of course the people that make water heaters would not be happy campers, but I'm sure their market would not disappear).
Ben, go ahead and ask how many people reading this right now, including you, are willing to stop using a water heater for the sake of humans everywhere, not just those they like? And FORGET TPTB even considering ANY "sacrifice" for the good of mankind, unless we-the-plebes are fraudulently convinced to do it.
The PROBLEM is solvable ONLY if TPTB realize that Matthew 7:12 (whether they are an atheist or whatever) is not optional if we wish to avoid extinction.
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is a tall order when the ideological underpinnings of TPTB are analogs to the fraud based
modus operandi. I think the root is Social Darwinism, but an objective observer could provide a convincing argument that Game Theory, another "fraud is a useful tool to get ahead" analog to Social Darwinism, taught in every military and/or business curriculum in most of the world as "GOOD STRATEGY", is the cancer poisoning, not just TPTB, but the masses too. Have you ever met a person that said Game Theory was morally bankrupt stupidity, AND Socially Destructive to boot, like me? Probably not. Watch a Zionist pay close attention when the "merits" of Game Theory are hyped. They eat that CRAP up.
As long as a person has no moral compass, you are up a creek without a paddle trying to convince them to repent of their Socially Destructive Ways=Sins. People will always be tempted by evil. From the little I know about theology/ religion (in my case some rudimentary knowledge of Jewish ideas) the Prophet is there in order to STAND in opposition (A PERMANENT opposition) to the admin guys (or todays TPTB). The Prophet is an INDEPENDENT structure (or authority) of both our consciousness/imagination and other physical political mechanisms. The prophet is THE compass that TPTB fear and respect. The Prophet is annoyance to TPTB, a throne in their back side. And this is the healthy form of governance. The imagination being CURTAILED by morality.
Both IMAGINATION and MORALLITY are 'fundamental forces' in humans. In this regard our imagination is equivalent to other ANIMALISTIC instincts. We do not tend to say ANIMALS (Chimpanzee for example) have imagination or self-awareness but humans do have them as their NATURAL abilities. Morality seems to me to be NOT natural (for the religious person it is Devine, and for the non-religious it is some other categorical imperative). Well, it IS natural in the sense that we HAVE it and VALUE it but its ORIGIN may be of a higher order that transcends our thinking of nature...
This is what I meant that we do not have an opposition. Our greed and other animalistic/Human NATURAL tendencies are being made HOLY. While morality is relegated to live on scraps TPTB throws at it as a "donation" to "good causes"...
Our governance system needs to WANT to elevate itself to INCLUDE a moral OPPOSITION. And in THIS I am 100% and totally with you.

I suspect that Russia will encourage them to take-the-win and not retaliate. Iran will have proved that it can penetrate Israel’s air space at will, but that Israel cannot penetrate Iranian air space.
