The untold history of the Israeli Defence Forces

2.48M subscribers Oct 22, 2024  The Big Picture Podcast

Before the formation of the Israeli Defence Forces in 1948, there were three underground Zionist militias - The Haganah, the Irgun and the Lehi.

They differed in tactics and beliefs, and at times fought with each other - but together they terrorised Palestinian villages and executed attacks and bombings against the British to force them to give up control of the land.

They blew up hotels in Jerusalem, embassies in Europe and assassinated a 🕊️ UN mediator.

After Israel was officiated as a state - the three militias would create the IDF - and their leaders would go on to form Israel’s government, become politicians, ambassadors and Prime Ministers.

And their dark history would be forgotten.

This week on The Big Picture, we unpack that history.

Israel will eventually pay price for Gaza genocide going on for a year: Turkish President Erdogan

AGelbert COMMENT: ❝Just as humanity's common alliance stopped Hitler, Netanyahu and his murderous network will be stopped in the same way❞

True. Judaism and Zionism are diametrically opposed. A "Zionist Christian" is a contradiction in terms.

Jesus Christ came to preach the gospel to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, and to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

God is not mocked.

The Total Madness of the State of Israel

SNIPPETS:

I’ve often suggested that our media functions as a powerful tool of mind-control, not too dissimilar from what might be found in the plotlines of classic science fiction. After spending weeks or months immersed in such a controlling narrative, thinking independent thoughts let alone completely breaking free becomes a very difficult undertaking. For most individuals, the whisper in the back of their skulls overwhelms their logical reasoning, while their emotional reactions are turned on or off as if by a switch.

A perfect example of this came in the infamous U.S.S. Liberty incident of 1967. While peacefully sailing in international waters, our naval vessel was attacked by the Israelis, whose air and sea forces killed or wounded more than 200 American servicemen, and only by chance failed in their effort to sink the ship with no survivors. This constituted America’s worst naval loss of life since the huge battles of World War II, and surely if any other nation in the world had been responsible, our swift and overwhelming military retaliation would have bombed its major cities to rubble and killed many thousands of its citizens, while perhaps also hunting down and executing all the enemy leaders who had ordered that unprovoked attack.

But instead our government completely covered up that incident at the time it occurred, and the only consequence was that the annual financial tribute we paid to the Jewish State steadily increased in size. Even when the facts finally came out a dozen years later, any outrage was confined to just a small sliver of our population, while the majority who heard the story vaguely assumed that since the media told them “nothing to see here” they should move on and pay no attention. Something that under normal circumstances might have been expected to provoke a major punitive war merely produced a few uncomfortable shrugs.

Given its large size and advanced weaponry, America stood as a physical colossus on the world stage of the 1960s, with no other country able to directly challenge our might. But we were still helpless before the nation that had attacked use because the small pro-Israel Jewish minority deployed its tools of media mind-control to transform us into helpless marionettes, jerked about by invisible strings.

More than a half-century has passed since that incident, and during most of those decades the power of such media mind-control over our population has remained enormous, even steadily growing more extreme.

Just a few weeks ago, the Israeli Mossad suddenly detonated thousands of booby-trapped pagers in Lebanon, whose simultaneous explosions killed or severely maimed around 500 civilians including some children, while wounding many times that number. Not only was this an obvious war-crime but given the scale of the attack and the terrifying public impact of converting ordinary electronic devices into deadly bombs throughout an entire country, it probably constituted one of the worst terrorist attacks in the history of the world, while setting extremely dangerous precedents for future strikes against other countries, certainly including our own. If our media had portrayed the incident one way, outraged Americans would surely have demanded that the terrorist state responsible be wiped from the face of the earth; but instead the media presented a different narrative, so our citizens either merely shrugged their shoulders or sometimes even cheered. ... ...

The SAMSON OPTION

This doctrine under which a collapsing Israel would use its nuclear arsenal to destroy most of the world is called “the Samson Option,” and was widely publicized in a 1991 bestseller of that title by renowned investigative journalist Seymour Hersh. But although that book received a great deal of attention both at the time it was published and in the decades since then, when I read it a few years ago I discovered that one of its most surprising elements had never been discussed in any of the various reviews and summaries I had read in the media.

Like most observers, I had always assumed that Israel had developed its nuclear arsenal as a trump card that it could play against the neighboring Arab states if the latter ever seemed on the verge of gaining the upper hand in conventional military terms. Indeed, during the severe military setbacks of the 1973 war, Israel did exactly that, and its threatened nuclear annihilation of Cairo and Damascus helped coerce the Nixon Administration into providing the unprecedented flow of military equipment that allowed Tel Aviv to turn the tide of battle and emerge victorious.

But Hersh’s book devoted nearly twenty pages to the remarkable fact that during the 1980s the primary target of Israel’s nuclear and thermonuclear arsenal was actually the Soviet Union. He explained that the Israelis surreptitiously gained access to the American reconnaissance information that allowed them to effectively target Moscow, Leningrad, and the other most important Soviet cities for annihilation. This nuclear strike capability was intended to powerfully deter the USSR from providing too much support to its Arab allies that were Israel’s immediate adversaries. During those years, the Soviets were at the peak of their military power, possessing the world’s biggest nuclear arsenal, and given that Israel is so small geographically I found it quite shocking that it would have developed a serious battle plan to attack and destroy the largest country in the world.

Furthermore, according to Hersh the Israelis were also making great efforts to develop miniaturized nuclear weapons that could be packed into an ordinary suitcase, which Mossad could then easily smuggle into the USSR or any other country deemed potentially hostile, with no possible means of defense against such an unobtrusive method of delivery. Over the years, many agitated commenters across the Internet have often claimed that Israeli embassies all around the world probably contain nuclear weapons that could be detonated in a crisis, thereby destroying the capital cities of every major country, and I’d always dismissed such notions as unreasonable paranoia. But after rereading portions of Hersh’s 1991 book and considering the recent exploding pager attacks, I’m now not so sure about that.

These sorts of extremely bold or extremely foolish attitudes still seem to persist among current Israeli leaders. Enraged last year by what he regarded as insufficient Russian support after the Hamas attack, a top Israeli political figure went on to declare that after Israel destroyed Hamas, it would then target Russia for severe retaliation, an astonishing threat to make against the country possessing the world’s largest nuclear arsenal.

The Secret History of Neoliberalism (w/ George Monbiot)

Author George Monbiot joins host Chris Hedges to discuss the book “Invisible Doctrine: The Secret History of Neoliberalism,” written by Monbiot and Peter Hutchinson. Together, they tackle the truths of neoliberalism, including its origins in colonialism and how it became the dominant ideology in the most powerful countries in the world.

AGelbert COMMENTS:
Celebrated social theorist and geographer David Harvey asked, "Is there a way to capture what (to the detriment of human civilization) is going on now" ?

YES.

It's the SOCIAL DARWINISM, stupid!

Social Darwinists believe that ethics based principles are 'limitations pretending to be virtues'. To them, ethics are 'feel good illusions' that humans invented to pretend our species has empathy. To Social Darwinists, empathy is irrefutable evidence of inexcusable weakness. To them, all who are guided by ethics are deluded fools that should be eliminated from the human 'apex predator' gene pool for the "good" of our species.

The ideology of the Social Darwinist is indistinguishable from the despicable ideology of NAZI Germany, clearly exemplified in their brutally enforced morally bankrupt concentration camp law: “Eat your own bread, and if you can, that of your neighbor.”

Social Darwinists are governed by both unbridled greed and fear of tomorrow, which provide the morally bankrupt excuse for rejecting altruism and empathy and embracing a selfish, greed dominated, hoarding modus vivendi.

"One who fears tomorrow does not offer his bread to others. But one who is willing to divide his food with a stranger has already shown himself capable of fellowship and faith, the two things from which hope is born." -- Primo Levi, author of Survival in Auschwitz

Social Darwinism is the morally bankrupt world view that spawned the profit over people and planet neoliberal ideology. Neoliberal intellectuals like Friedrich von Hayek, Ludwig von Mises and Milton Friedman were all Social Darwinists long before they renamed laissez-faire liberalism (that had been thoroughly discredited by the Great Depression) with the catchy title of "Neoliberalism".

David Harvey explains that neoliberal ideology serves the following principle:
"There shall be no serious challenge to the absolute power of money to rule absolutely. And that power is to be exercised with one objective: Those possessed of money shall not only be privileged to accumulate wealth endlessly at will, but they shall have the right to inherit the earth, taking either direct or indirect dominion, not only of the land and all the resources and productive capacities that reside therein, but also assume absolute command, directly or indirectly, over the labor and creative capacities of all those others it needs. The rest of humanity shall be deemed disposable."

If the morally bankrupt, socially destructive ideology which champions the absolute power of money to rule absolutely, while it simultaneously deems the rest of humanity disposable, is not SOCIAL DARWINISM, I don't know what is.

-------------------

George Monbiot is right about the moral bankruptcy of Neoliberalism, but he is has swallowed the NEOLIBERAL KOOLAID that "19 Airabs" did 9/11. Cheney et al (SEE: Dancing Netanyahu Employees) DID the 9/11 TREASON.

Wage Wars,  Steal Oil — A Conversation with “Iraq’s” Oil Minister

SNIPPET:

Okay. You read the headline and now expect me to be chatting with an Iraqi official -- i.e., an Iraqi Shia born in Iraq. Nope. Meet Gary Vogler.
Quote
"Gary Vogler is a 1973 West Point graduate, retired army reserve lieutenant colonel, retired ExxonMobil executive with 21 years, five months of Iraq oil planning at Pentagon followed by 75 months in Iraq under DOD – appointed Oil Minister during first 10 days in Baghdad in April 2003."
Did you catch that? He was in Iraq for more than seven years, and he was in charge of Iraq's Oil Ministry. Gary started off his stint in Iraq believing that the US invaded to eliminate weapons of mass destruction. He worked initially under L. Paul Bremer aka "Jerry" Bremer. Years later -- 2014 to be precise -- Gary came to the realization that the premise for the invasion was to secure oil for  Israel. When he presented his concerns to Jerry, Bremer shut him down and ended the friendship.

So, enjoy our conversation. Gary is a good man.

Children of the Camps

Yahya Sinwar

Yahya Sinwar was killed fighting Israeli soldiers in the ruins of Gaza. His death will serve as an inspiration for Palestinians for years to come. If there is to be a free and independent Palestine, it will be because of the sacrifice made by Yahya Sinwar in the cause of its creation. He is the true father of Palestine.

He was a child of the camps, born into captivity in the Gazan Khan Younis refugee camp, the son of Palestinian citizens of Majdal 'Asqalan (present-day Ashkelon) who were forcibly driven from their homes by Israeli forces in 1948 in what is referred to as the Nakba, or catastrophe.

He was one of the first to join Hamas when it broke away from the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, in 1987, and founded the Majd, or security services of Hamas, which he commanded. From the start he recognized that purging Hamas and the Palestinian population of Israeli agents was a top priority, a prerequisite for success. When he was arrested by the Israelis and sentenced to four life terms for his involvement in the abduction and subsequent deaths of two Israeli soldiers, he openly confessed to killing 12 Israeli informants.

In prison he emerged as the leader of Hamas, organizing the prisoners behind bars, and coordinating with Hamas leaders in Gaza. He studied Hebrew and the Israeli people and nation, and captured his experiences in a “novel,” The Thorn and the Carnation, which he noted was fictional despite every incident described being true.

Yahya Sinwar’s book, The Thorn and the Carnation

He was released from prison in 2011, part of a prisoner exchange agreed to by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

He quickly rose up the ranks of Hamas, bringing its political and military wings into harmony, and working to incorporate Hamas into the so-called “axis of resistance,” led by Iran, and which included Hezbollah (Lebanon) and Ansarullah (Yemen).

He married shortly after being released from prison, and his wife, who holds a master's degree in theology from the Islamic University of Gaza, blessed him with three children, including an eldest son, Ibrahim, from who he took his honorific, Aby Ibrahim (“the father of Ibrahim”).

He swore that his progeny would not be condemned to spend their lives as children of the camps.

To this end, he helped plan and execute the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel.

Scott will discuss this article and answer audience questions on Ep. 204 of Ask the Inspector.

The attack resulted in more than 1,200 Israeli deaths, more than a third of whom were soldiers, and of the rest, more than half were killed by Israeli forces as part of the “Hannibal Directive” in which the Israeli Defense Force is tasked with killing any Israeli captive so as to prevent subsequent political pressure being brought on Israeli leadership for the kind of prisoner swap that had led to his release.

He had spent a lifetime studying the Israelis, and he knew them like the back of his hand.

He knew that by humiliating the Israeli military and security forces, by taking hundreds of Israelis prisoner, that he would compel the Israeli nation to shed the thin veneer of civility and humanity it wore like a cloak to deceive the world, and instead compel the Israelis to show to the world the truth about who they really were—a nation who believed they were above all others in the world, whose self-proclaimed status as “Gods chosen people” allowed them to lord over the “human animals” who did not profess their faith, raping, murdering, and robbing at will without fear of consequence.

He knew Israel would fully implement its cruel Dahiya Doctrine of collective punishment, murdering tens of thousands of Palestinians because of their collective rage at being humiliated by Hamas.

The destruction of Gaza by Israel

He understood the Israeli psychology, predicting that not only would they adapt an artificial intelligence-based targeting tool, known as “Lavender,” that they would use to justify the bombing of civilian neighborhoods to kill low-level Hamas officials and their families, but that the Israelis would be compelled to brag about it, exposing their crimes to the world.

He knew that Operation Al Aqsa Flood—the name of the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel—would set in motion events that would not only lead to the diminishment of Israel, but the emergence of a Palestinian homeland.

He knew he was marked for death, often delivering public addresses in Gaza after which he would announce to the press that he was walking home—openly daring Israel to kill him.

His death was a top priority of Israel in the days, weeks, and months following October 7, 2023. The Israelis tried to diminish him as a leader, spreading reports that painted him as a billionaire who enriched himself off of the misery of the Palestinian people, and a coward who hid beneath the ground, surrounded by his family and Israeli hostages whom he used as human shields.

In the end, he did die at the hands of the Israelis.

But he did not die in a tunnel.

He did not die surrounded by human shields.

He died fighting, at the command of Hamas fighters in the streets of Gaza.

Israeli drone imagery of Yahya Sinwar moments before his death

It was an accidental encounter, where Israeli forces, probing the ruins of Gaza, made contact with several Hamas fighters.

In the firefight that followed, Israeli tanks fired into the building where the fighters had positioned themselves. Four of the Hamas fighters were killed. When Israeli soldiers tried to make entry into the building, they were driven off by hand grenades thrown by the sole survivor, who was badly wounded.  Israeli infantry, using anti-tank missiles, fired into the building, severely wounding the surviving Hamas fighter. A drone was flown into the structure, revealing a defiant figure, seated in a chair, glaring at the camera. One arm had been blown off the fighter, and his legs were badly mangled. With his one remaining arm, the fighter picked up a piece of wood and threw it at the drone.

Armed with the knowledge of where the wounded Hamas fighter was, the Israelis again fired on the building, killing him.

His name was Yahya Sinwar.

He died a hero’s death.

Leading his men in combat against the invader.

So that his children, and the children of other “Children of the Camps” like himself, would one day know freedom.

Yahya Sinwar (right), holding his son Ibrahim in his arms, standing next to Ismail Haniyeh (left)

Yahya Sinwar has now been immortalized as a martyr in the most righteous cause imaginable—the birth of a nation trying to liberate its people from a cruel and unjust occupation.

Over the course of the next days, Israel and the United States will seek to use Yahya Sinwar’s death for propaganda purposes by appealing to the Palestinian people to reject his fate by surrendering to the tyranny of Israeli dominance and occupation.

What the politicians in Tel Aviv and Washington, DC fail to understand is that the Palestinian people have already embraced the fate of Yahya Sinwar as their own, that they welcome martyrdom if it means that their children will live free as citizens of an independent Palestinian state.

He was a child of the camps.

He was born in the camps.

Raised and nourished by the camps.

And he died defending the camps from the Israeli occupier.

So that there would never again be generations of Palestinians whose lives were defined by the prison of the camps.

In other news, 👿 Netanyahu toady 🐍 Blinken is going to Israel (Tuesday, October 22, 2024).

 Friends, PAY ATTENTION:

EVERY TIME Blinken has gone to Israel in the last YEAR, MORE MURDER AND MAYHEM has been launched by the IDF AND/OR the U.S. military against some member of 🕯️🗽 the Axis of Resistance.

If you think Mr. 👿 Netanyahu Double Down ☠️ Dahiya "doctrine" isn't INSANELY gonna do more of the SAME, with his loyal toady Blinken providing 🦍 enthusiastic U.S. military might, you are suffering from cognitive dissonance.

It is my evidence based suspicion (from past behavior of Blinken being "present" during IDF command post "defense of Israel actions") that Zionist Brute Blinken is going to Israel to enthusiastically coordinate the incredibly stupid U.S. + IDF attack on Iran.

For those with poor memories, ponder this graphic:

How did that "Operation Israeli Prosperity Guardian" work out, Mr. Blinken?

And how "effective" have all those fighter bomber jets and B2 Bombers been in "Guarding" Israeli Prosperity from those pesky Ansarallah, never mind Hizbollah AND IRAN?

You can only poke that bear so far...

Have a nice day.

Revealed: The Israeli Spies Writing America’s News

SNIPPET:
News About Israel, Brought to You by Israel

Ravid is far from the only influential journalist in America with deep ties to the Israeli state, however. Shachar Peled spent three years as an officer in Unit 8200, leading a team of analysts in surveillance, intelligence and cyberwarfare. She also served as a technology analyst for the Israeli intelligence service, Shin Bet. In 2017, she was hired as a producer and writer by CNN and spent three years putting together segments for Fareed Zakaria and Christiane Amanpour’s shows. Google later hired her to become their Senior Media Specialist.

Another Unit 8200 agent who went on to work for CNN is Tal Heinrich. Heinrich spent three years as a Unit 8200 agent. Between 2014 and 2017, she was the field and news desk producer for CNN’s notoriously pro-Israel Jerusalem Bureau, where she was one of the principal journalists 😈 shaping America’s understanding of Operation Protective Edge, Israel’s bombardment of Gaza that killed more than 2,000 people and left hundreds of thousands displaced. Heinrich later left CNN and is now the official spokesperson of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

CNN’s penchant for hiring Israeli state figures continues to this day. Tamar Michaelis, for example, currently works for the network, producing much of its Israel/Palestine content. This is despite having previously served as an official IDF spokesperson in the Israeli Defense Forces.

The New York Times, meanwhile, hired Anat Schwartz, an ex-Israeli Air Force Intelligence officer with zero journalistic experience. Schwartz co-wrote the infamous and now discredited “Screams Without Words” expose, which claimed that Hamas fighters systematically sexually violated Israelis on October 7. Times staff themselves revolted over the lack of evidence and fact-checking in the piece.

Multiple New York Times employees, including star columnist David Brooks, have had children serving in the IDF; even as they report or offer opinions on the region, the Times never disclosed these glaring conflicts of interest to its readers. Nor has it disclosed that it purchased a Jerusalem house for its bureau chief that was stolen from the family of Palestinian intellectual Ghada Karmi in 1948.

MintPress News interviewed Karmi last year about her latest book and Israeli attempts to silence her. Former New York Times Magazine writer and current editor-in-chief of The Atlantic Jeffrey Goldberg (an American) dropped out of the University of Pennsylvania to volunteer as an IDF prison guard during the first Palestinian Intifada (uprising). In his memoirs, Goldberg revealed that, while serving in the IDF., he helped cover up the abuse of Palestinian prisoners.

Social media companies, too, are filled with former Unit 8200 agents. A 2022 MintPress study found no fewer than 99 former Unit 8200 operatives working for Google.

Facebook also employs dozens of ex-spooks from the controversial unit. ... ...

Killing 🗽 Sinwar Will Not End the War in Gaza
Yahya Sinwar

Israel is busy taking a victory lap after they unexpectedly killed Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, who was caught in an Israeli tank strike. Sinwar was not the most photogenic fellow and his savage visage provided the West with an ideal villain. He looks evil, therefore he must be. While the Zionists love to use the imagery of "cutting-off the head of the snake," I think they are grossly exaggerating Sinwar's importance of his death and his significance to the movement. From the Palestinian perspective, he died a hero's death. He was not cowering in a tunnel. He was on the field of battle, carrying a weapon and fighting.

Images like this, while sating the blood lust of some in the West, is likely to cement Sinwar's status as a heroic martyr and rally beleaguered Palestinian youths to join Hamas and continue the fight. Hamas is not a rigid, hierarchical organization. It is a diffuse and flexible group. I believe Sinwar's presence on the battlefield is an example of that. If Hamas had a central command center coordinating all operations, Sinwar would have been there instead of recklessly exposing himself out in the open.

Hamas is proving to behave more like mercury when struck -- it fragments into smaller, separate globules, but retains the capacity to attack and damage the Zionist forces in Gaza. In this regard, I think Hamas shares an ironic similarity to the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto who rose up against the Nazis in April 1943, only they are better armed and trained than the Jewish youths who battled the Germans. The Zionists, whether they know it or not, are creating a Palestinian version of Masada. While the Jews who fought against the Romans at Masada ultimately died, their sacrifice created a legend that Jews have celebrated through the Centuries. I think we are witnessing something similar taking place with the Palestinians. They are managing to survive against seemingly insurmountable odds.

Unlike Masada, where the Jewish defenders committed suicide, the Palestinians are dying at the hands of the Zionist military forces. It would be one thing if the Israeli Occupation Force (IOF) was focused on battling armed insurgents, but the horrific reality is that the Zionists are engaged in active genocide and wantonly killing civilians. This is a stain on Israel that will mark it for generations to come, if it survives. Killing women and children is a soul destroying endeavor and will scar the consciences of many of the IOF soldiers. Remember, one of the reasons that the Germans started using gas to carry out large-scale executions of Jews in Poland is that a large number of the Nazi soldiers, who shot people they had stuffed into large pits -- such as the massacre at Babi Yar -- experienced severe psychological reactions and became combat ineffective. Even crazed fanatics can reach a limit where the guilt crushes their mind.

Sinwar's death, instead of diminishing the violence in Gaza and throughout the region, is likely to ignite further escalation. Hezbollah and the Houthis, for example, are likely to step up the intensity and lethality of their attacks in the coming weeks. If Israel, blinded by hubris, decides to up the ante and attack Iran, Iran will strike back with a ferocity Israel has never experienced. If that happens, I think the region will be engulfed in a major war.

What makes the situation so dangerous is that the United States is paralyzed with politics and incapable of taking decisive actions to force Israel to sheath its sword. Biden's weakness and mental incapacity means there is no adult in charge in Washington capable of making tough decisions to compel de-escalation. Just the opposite. Sending THAAD air-defense systems and US troops to Israel just adds more fuel to an already, unstable, combustible mixture. I hope I am wrong. But my churning gut tells me otherwise.

Zionist Accounts are Losing it Over my Post About Sinwar's Killing

Because there are two things Zionists fear more than anything in life, and my post opens the door  to both

SNIPPET:

As you would imagine, in a year or so of posting harsh critiques of Israel in the English language (if you’re new here, I only left Israel a month ago), I have been on the receiving end of quite a few nasty and hateful comments. Mocking, cursing, ill-wishing, and psychiatric analysis free of charge—I got it all. In a way, it’s okay: those are the rules of the online game.

But what happened when I posted about Yahye Sinwar’s death (and life) was different: the normal one, two, or three enraged comments turned into hundreds, with tens of lambasting shares mocking my supposed unintelligence and Sinwar’s alleged utter worthlessness.

It’s worth taking a minute to consider why that is, and what it is about my post and Sinwar’s filmed death that tickled so many Zionists into an actual rage .

But first, the text. That’s what I posted yesterday eve (California time):
Quote
He died an honorable death. A warrior’s death, among his men, one with his people, in defense of his land against a genocidal intruder, occupier, and colonizer.

The last episode of Sinwar's life could not have been better written by the most gifted playwright: not in a tunnel, a secret bunker, or a far-off palace, and not while engaging in some unworthy act. He died resisting.
-
If there's one word I could think of to describe this ending, it is Hemingwayan. This was like a scene from a Hemingway novel about Palestine (I have no doubt who Hemingway would support in this conflict).

Seeing it, I was reminded of the ending of For Whom the Bell Tolls, with the rebels holding positions on a hill with the fascists closing in on them with airplanes and machine guns, knowing they have no chance of surviving.

In his final moments, Sinwar knew that was it for him. But he did not break. A proud Palestinian, Gazan, and Muslim to his last breath.
-
He was born in 1962 in Khan Yunis to a family of 1948 refugees from Al-Majdal; he was 5 when Israel occupied Gaza, and never let go to this day (but it will, eventually).

In his last act of defiance, he threw some debris at an IDF drone, and I got to thinking: did he, as a young boy, also throw stones at IDF soldiers in Gaza?
-
What that refugee who spent 22 years in an Israeli prison started on October 7 is going to change world history for good. The process is only in its initial phases.

A few examples (out of hundreds)

Here is a small selection of the comments I got in response to the above-quoted text. For context, the reference to oak is a direct translation of my name in Hebrew: that’s what Alon means in Hebrew: the oak tree.

Another idiosyncrasy is the repeated references to stupidity. I share a name with a famous Israeli footballer, known for his unintended verbal jams (in a post-game interview he once said, for instance ‘Today we proved there’s nothing we need to prove‘). ...
