News:

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice: for they shall be filled. Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke. I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord. Let sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Praise ye the Lord.

Creep Resistant HMPE Mooring Line
« on: December 15, 2022, 12:30:51 pm »
Agelbert NOTE: HMPE is an example of PROPER USE of hydrocarbons (i.e. NOT for fuels! ). HMPE is an abbreviation of UHMWPE, which is ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. It is made from polyolefin. Polyolefins are synthetic polymers comprising olefinic monomers. A polyolefin is a type of polymer with the general formula (CH2CHR)n where R is an alkyl group. They are usually derived from a small set of simple olefins (alkenes 👉 Alkene is often used as synonym of olefin, that is, any hydrocarbon containing one or more double bonds.). Several million metric tons of polyolefins are produced and consumed annually all over the world.

The FACTs of selecting the right fiber for mooring lines: Creep

Generally speaking, ropes made from HMPE are sensitive to long-term loads, meaning that lines made with the material elongate proportionally over time. This is known as creep – a process that will ultimately limit the lifespan of a line.

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets. Matthew 7:12
